Keystone Pipeline
- Crushing the energy sector.
- Killing thousands of high paying jobs along with those associated with the pipeline
- Breakup of unions
- Hurting the environment (shipping on trucks or other ways increases emissions along with higher accidental risks)
- Higher gas prices
- Higher home energy prices
- Removal of tax revenues
- Dependency on foreign countries
Biden stated "National interest" to end the pipeline. This is another order good for the international community.
Senator Daines said: "This project will create thousands of jobs, generate tax revenue for local communities, promote North American energy security and independence, and it is the safest and most environmentally friendly way to transport oil."
National Association of Manufacturers President Jay Timmons characterized as a “missed opportunity” for the U.S. manufacturing sector. “Rebuilding our economy will require us to invest in infrastructure of all types, including Keystone XL. Manufacturers have a strong commitment to responsible environmental stewardship, and protecting our environment does not require us to walk away from this job-creating opportunity.”
Buttigieg acknowledges Keystone workers may need to get 'different' union jobs. He also announced gas tax possible (link) and taxes on the mileage you drive.
Biden reversing Making America Great Again to supporting the elites in the international community. The United States worked hard in becoming energy independent and it changes with one of Biden's acts on his first day in office.
Tweet: #Pipeline construction has been a lifeline for many #LIUNA members across the country. The anticipated decision to cancel the #KeystonePipeline will kill thousands of good-paying #UNION jobs!
United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters Statement: "In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1"
How does this help the middle class and average American?
